The traditional 8th grade field trip to Chicago, Il. starts out with a luncheon at a restaurant chosen by the class (usually the Rain Forest Cafe). They then head to the Broadway district to see an afternoon matinee.
The 8th grade class puts on fundraisers throughout the year to pay for the field trip expenses (monthly bun days, bake sales, spring flower sale, & evergreen and poinsettia sales are just some of the fundraisers).
