Q: What school supplies will my child need to bring to school?
A: We have partnered with Schoolkidz, a company that provides individualized school supply kits. Your child’s kit will include everything his/her teacher has requested and will be available for him/her on the first day of school. The kit is an assembled box containing all brand new and high quality school supplies your child will use throughout the school year. Some of the items include, pens, pencils, coloring items, notebooks, pencil pouches, etc. This is a one-time fee and each student should have enough items in their kit to replenish school supplies throughout the year.
Q: What is the cost of each kit?
A: The cost per kit, per student is:
$35 for PK, K, 1st, 2nd grade
$50 for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade
$60 for 6th, 7th and 8th grade
Q: How and when do I pay for the supply kit(s)?
A: You may submit your payment by check mailed to our school 1020 Wilber St. South Bend, IN 46628. You can also use the Prepay Accounts on your FACTS account or check/cash to the school office. All payments are due by Friday, August 28th. Please remember one supply kit per child, per grade.
Q: Can my child still bring a backpack from home?
A: Yes, each student should bring a backpack from home.
Q: Should my child bring in a lunchbox?
A: Yes, each child must bring their own lunch box daily. Because we must limit the number of visitors throughout the day, lunches may not be dropped off during the school day this year. If a student forgets his lunch at home, we will provide one for him/her.
Q: Will we still have Bunday on Tuesdays?
A: Unfortunately no, we want to keep children and teachers as safe as possible, minimizing the amount of people in our building. Bunday involves the help of many wonderful volunteers and the distribution of food to students. We cannot make Bunday happen safely under the current circumstances but we hope to find other safe and creative ways to raise the funds that Bunday would normally generate for student activities.
Q: Do we need to buy gym shoes for P. E. class this year?
A: No. Specials classes will be taught remotely until we can safely return to normal class sizes. P.E. will not take place in the gym and, therefore, students do not need a separate pair of clean gym shoes this year. We are researching ways to make P.E. safe for our students and will most likely have students engage in physical activity outside whenever feasible.
