Mrs. Debbie Hudak has been a school counselor for the past 25 year in the South Bend area catholic schools, and 23 of these years have been at Holy Cross. She holds a Criminal Justice degree from Purdue University, and a Master’s degree in School and Guidance Counseling from IUSB.
As a school counselor, she counsels individuals and/or groups of students regarding a variety of issues or concerns, and provides them with positive strategies and communication skills in order to handle, face, and overcome their life challenges.
She also teaches various age appropriate classes throughout the year.
Pk-5th grade – Peace Works Class, friendship skills and anti-bullying.
6th – 8th grade – Life Skills, facing the challenges life can present and developing skills or strategies to help through the ups and downs of life.
Mrs. Hudak believes we ALL have gifts and talents and her greatest goal is to help each child find their faith in God, explore their potential, believe in themselves, and see the many talents He has blessed them with. Her hope is that all of our students will be able to develop life goals so they can become who God would like them to be.
Mrs. Hudak has two daughters. Her oldest is a graduate from Purdue in accounting and is married and living in Indianapolis. Her youngest daughter is currently a grad student at Ball State University, pursuing a Speech Pathology degree. Mrs. Hudak loves to travel, have fun, do good, tell jokes and make people laugh. She enjoys life, loves her family and friends, and is very appreciative to God for all His many blessings. She feels that without Him, we wouldn’t have all these blessings!
